stevessunshine SoCal Sample Sale Oct 6, 2011 11:51 AM  Hey D&B Sample Lovers!  I bought one bag too many at last week's D&B Sample Sale in Costa Mesa, CA.  If you know of anyone who would be interested in buying this lovely bag, please let me know.  I paid $150 for the bag.  The ONLY reason I'm willing to part with it is because I grabbed it for a friend and she changed her mind AFTER I paid for it.  I'm keeping the other bags I bought that day :). Ciao!
BlackPowerBunny Dooney & Bourke Quilted Spicy Mar 6, 2011 7:30 PM I’m not sure if it’s the pattern, the fabric, or the shape of the bag that is pushing me to really like the Quilted Spicy collection from Dooney & Bourke. At this moment I’m leaning towards all three.     I really like the clean pattern of the Quilted Spicy. Nothing against signature looks, but I’m way past all the Ds, Cs, Fs, and Bs. I just want a simple clean bodies and lines. From a distance the fabric looks to be coated, which typically most of Dooney’s fabrics are. The shape of this particular bag, the Messenger Bag, is nostalgic. Well for me at least. I remember wanting a Cabriolet Messenger Bag for days and then couldn’t find one. I found a few on ebay, but I couldn’t even go down that road. This time I’m not gonna miss out.   With only seven handbag styles available, I hope the Quilted Spicy hangs around for a while. I’d love a spring/summer and fall/winter bag .
BlackPowerBunny Dooney and Bourke 2010 Tent Sale Dates Nov 28, 2010 9:21 PM Well, looks like I'm gonna miss the sale again this year. It never fails! For the past 5 years I've attended every Dooney and Bourke Tent Sale, and now...oh well.   For those that don't know this is the one time of the year that Dooney creates a handbag heaven in their parking lot and puts just about every collection on sale. We're talking sale prices that make the trip to Norwalk, CT worth it. I've always gone with a list and taken at least one friend with me (I'm always about sharing a good deal). In the past I've saved 40% to 70% off their handbags. I personally go for the leather because that's worth the deal.   Anyway since I'm not going, someone else can plan for it. Watches, cashmere, leather, fabric, key rings,gloves...it's all there.   Tent Sale     December 9-12, 2010 Thursday (12/9)   10am-8pm   Friday (12/10)      10am-8pm       Saturday (12/11) 10am-6pm   Sunday (12/12)    11am-3pm
BlackPowerBunny Replacement Found! Happiness Bound! Nov 3, 2010 7:55 AM I thought I didn’t want a white wristlet in my handbag wardrobe, but I couldn’t help but look for one anyway. Lucky me just browsing on the website found an adequate white leather wristlet to replace the damaged white patent leather wristlet. And since it was just $85, I only had to pay $10 for it. *bunny binky*   I remember the day I bought my first Prada bag. I was so proud. I just knew that I had made this amazing fashion choice and that little symbol proved it. I didn’t feel that way when my bag du jour became last season’s look. What exactly do I do with a $600 bag that isn’t as cute as it used to be? Hmmm? I could try to sell it on ebay, but with the market being flooded with fakes, it’s hard to get a good price for the real deal. I eventually gave it away to Goodwill believe it or not.   I decided then that I would no longer waste good money. I wanted leather bags that would stand the test of time: material wise, fashion wise, and money wise. I admit that I felt Dooney and Bourke had lost its edge for a quick minute there, but when the circle hobos came out…I was back on board. Quickly became a great customer at the Madison Flagship store…I was creating a handbag wardrobe that would last a lifetime.   Again, we don’t really NEED anything, but we as fashionistas WANT. I especially want my greenbacks to go as far as the eye can see.   www.dooney.com
BlackPowerBunny I Ruined My Bag! Now What? Nov 1, 2010 9:59 PM   Yes, I found the white patent leather wristlet I had been dying for. And I found it on sale (even better)! I was elated and couldn’t wait to use it. There’s nothing like having a white bag to go with your white ensemble. Well, returning from a fab evening out, I placed this hot new white patent leather wristlet on the desk. Soon after I fell fast asleep.   In a panic I woke up the next morning thinking, “Did I place my white patent next to my red patent?” Rule number one of owning patent leather bags (not patent bags) is that the bags must be kept separate at all times. Patent has a way of transferring to other patent and….son of bitch! I mistakenly placed the white patent leather bag over the red patent leather bag. Now my white has specks of pink on it. RUINED!!!!!   Before we freak out, let’s remind everyone that Dooney and Bourke has a repair program. The cost of repair varies based on the warranty and damage, but there is a program in place nonetheless. Turns out my baby is no longer made, but don’t fret D&B is here to help. Since my bag can’t be replaced, I was sent a credit for the wristlet: a $75 credit towards a new bag. Yes, a credit towards a new bag!   So now I’m trying to decide what new bag to buy. I suppose I could find another white wristlet, but I really wanted the patent leather. Here’s the deal, I know at times it seems like purchasing these extra $$ bags may not be a great idea. These are wardrobe investments though. The fact is everyone wants that dollar to go a little further, so why not buy a great bag that has a great repair/replacement program in place. It’s a clear sign that your money will surely go far…even if the bag doesn’t.
